  The Javanese wedding are unique rather than other culture. It is because Javanese wedding are wonderful and mystical sound of Javanese music gamelan instruments which is Panggih or Temu - meeting. In Javanese wedding, the bride will be make up traditionally with special gelungan ( hairdo), wearing shining brilliant and golden jewelries and special dress. The groom also have to wears special dress.

     In the ceremony, the bridegroom have to appear in their best as like they are treated and honored by those who present in that wedding. they should be as King and Queen on that day. As traditional rules, the happy party should be takes place in the of bride`s parents. The bride`s parents are the ones who will organize the wedding ceremony. The gate of house must be decorated with tarub which will consist of different Tuwuhan - plants and leaves.

      A complete Javanese wedding ceremony has several complicated traditional rituals. In that event, role of pemaes, a traditional make up woman who should lead the complete set of the whole ceremonies is very important. There have many ritual that the bridegroom need to complete in their wedding. Some of them is Wiji Dadi which the bridegroom need to a crash chicken egg with his right foot, then, washed by the bride using water mixed with several kinds of flowers. It symbolize that the bridegroom is ready to become a responsible father and the bride should be faithfully serve her husband.

     Then, the ritual is Kacar Kucur or tampa kaya. It is about of the couple need to walk with holding each other with their little finger to the site of Kacar Kucur in a chair in front of the house`s Krobongan. It symbolize that the husband should give all of his income to his wife. After that, the ritual of Sungkeman. This ritual, the couple should kneel and asks a blessing from their parents. During the Sungkeman, the Pemaes takes out the keris from the bridegroom. There have many rituals that Javanese people do on their wedding, but in this site I just only state randomly.

Javanese food

      In Javanese culture, three have many types of food that they eat and produce. Food that they produce are different than other culture. Javanese cuisine is a major ethnic group in Indonesia. Other than that, Javanese cuisine is more indigenous developed and noted for its simplicity.
   
      Furthermore, Javanese cuisine tastes rather than sweet compared to other culture. It is because generous amount of gula jawa or sweet soy favoured. The Javanese food is categorized into central and east Javanese food. Both of them serve simple and less spicy food, but then Central Javanese food id tends to be sweeter.

    One of the popular recipe of Javanese food is nasi ambang. Nasi ambang is an authentic Javanese cuisine which is wrapped and served in tray. It was divided into 4 serves which is Nasi Ambeng is a special rice that is quite similar with nasi campur (mixed rice), which is popular among the Javanese and Nasi Tumpeng which is popular in Indonesia. It is a grand dish which is usually served during special occasions.

 According to reliable sources " Nasi ambang usually served in dulang.  A generous amount of rice is placed in the centre of a dulang or large platter which is lined with banana leaf.  Nasi Ambeng is normally eaten by hand the standard practice is to sit around the platter on a mat.  Nasi Ambang is a great communal treat and it teaches the concept of sharing food equally. "

Javanese dance

                                                       Ayuk, belajar tarianne wong jowo...

         Javanese culture was familiar with dance in their culture. They do their dance in wedding and certain ceremony.  Javanese dance also usually similar with wayang wong which stated in yogjakarta and surakarta due to the nature of dance being a pusaka. 

    

      There`s have two types of javanese dance that were familiar which is Tari Kraton and Tari Kawulo. Tari Kraton is dance that only familiar for palace dances, while Tari Kawulo is for commoner dance. In Tari Kraton, there`s have three basic  type of dance that the dancer need to know :
beksan putri

  •    Beksan putra   :  these are dance for men which is they dance with two purpose  - a military close      order and order drill and highlighting martial skills.
  •  Beksan putri      :  these dance for female. this dances designed for royal events with very precise movements and distinct staging with subtle layers of meaning.
  •  Beksan wayang  :  these are dance that are pick from epic poems. then, they usually named the characters  in them which that alus- style and a gagah- style villain.
Tari Kawulo
            Tari Kawulo is known as Tari Rakyat. This dance is popular among commoner. This type of dance  were developed in villages or cities  that are located relatively quite far from from Javanese Kratons. This dance also also more open and adaptive to foreign influences.

History
Ancient Javanese people

       Javanese people, is an ethnic group native that come from Indonesian island of Java. They are also predominantly located in the central eastern parts of the island. The Javanese people also a significant group in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Suriname in South America. Like most Indonesian ethnic groups, including the Sundanese of West Java, the Javanese are of Austronesian origins whose ancestors are thought to have originated in Taiwan, and migrated through the Philippines, reaching Java between 1,500BCE and 1,000BCE.
       
      Their religion is  Hindu and Buddhist. This were influences them arrived through trade contacts with the Indian subcontinent. Since as early as first century CE, Javanese sailors has been trading spices in India. The Javanese developed philosophical concepts that are parallel but not identical with the Indian. Hindu missionaries arrived in 5th century, with Buddhist missionaries also coming around the same period. Local rulers adopted concept of kingly rules with monarch identified with gods. These Hinduism, Buddhism and Javanese faiths blended into a unique local philosophies. The cradle of Javanese culture is commonly described as being in Kedu Plain in the fertile slopes of Mount Merapi. Earliest dynasties, Sanjaya and Sailendra has their power base there, where they leave major monuments such as Borobudur and Prambanan temple complex. 

      After for a long time,they were stay together, they were decide to move other country because war and others. They were probably involved in Austronesian migration to Madagascar in the first centuries CE. While the core culture of the migration is most closely related with Ma'anyan of Borneo, a portions of Malagasy language is derived from loanwords from Javanese language. 

       Then,the Javanese present in Peninsular Malaya since early times. Portuguese historian De Barros mentioned that there were 10,000 Javanese in Malacca in early 16th century. They were administered with autonomy under their chiefs. Their settlement contributed to the multi-ethnic nature of Malacca. Link between Java and Malacca was important during spread of Islam in Indonesia, when religious missionaries were sent from Malacca to seaports in northern coast of Java.

      Large migration to Peninsular Malaya occurred during colonial period when they migrated from Central Java to Malaysia from 1880 to 1930. They migrated to seek a new life away from the Dutch colonists who ruled Indonesia at that time. Today the they live throughout Peninsular Malaysia in parts of Perak, Selangor, and Kedah.  The migrants bring with them various aspect of Javanese cultures such as Gamelan music, traditional dances and art of Wayang kulit shadow play.
